Can I get financial aid?
Yes you can. Educational loans are offered through Sallie Mae with options for low interest and deferred payments while you complete your training. We are also approved for Veterans Educational Benefits. The process is fast and easy, and in most cases you can start training as soon as the application is approved.

Why FAA Approved?
As an FAA approved school we are inspected by the government and must meet higher standards than non approved schools. Our curriculum, instructors and aircraft must meet requirements that the non-approved and free lance instructor do not. This helps you get the required training in a more structured manner, and in aircraft which meet higher regulatory standards.

Why Falcon Aviation Academy?
Choosing a professional flight training school is an important decision. While there are many schools to choose from, there are very few flight schools that offer the professional aviation development that Falcon Aviation Academy offers. In a much larger school you are just a number, with very little customized training. With the very small school, you are usually restricted to non-professional instructors who have other interests rather than you. Our company has the purpose of developing each and every student customer to the fullest of their potential.
Our Purpose is to provide high quality training programs at a reasonable cost. Since we are a flight school, helping the student with goals and objectives are our objectives. Additionally we provide modern, safe and reliable aircraft. |
Do you offer college credit?
Our affiliation with Georgia State University allows up to 3 credit hours per rating to be used to complete elective requirements in the Urban Studies Program. A degree in aviation also makes you a much more competitive candidate when applying and interviewing for jobs.
Wouldn’t a big-name flight school be better?
Many big-name flight schools have sought after airline affiliations and offer very expensive programs that do not guarantee job placement. At Falcon Aviation Academy we stand on our reputation of quality training. Our graduates have interviewed and now work for popular airlines and charter organizations such as Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Pinnacle, Express Jet, Flight Works, Phoenix Air, and many others. We get you results without the high dollar hype.
When will I be able to get a job?
Unlike much larger flight schools that have long waiting lists, at Falcon Aviation Academy, after completing your CFI you may start working immediately. Our commitment to quality training results in some of the most competitive pay rates among flight schools all across the country. You may also qualify in our charter program after about 10 months. For many who choose the airline route, after reaching about 1200 total hours and 200 multi engine hours (approximately 1 yr of CFI experience), you may qualify for an interview with a regional carrier. Many other options are available in aviation with fewer hours and other qualifications – the sky is the limit!
What are the advantages of the Airline Career Path or Intership Program?
This training program is a complete, highly structured method to provide a clear path to professional pilot training followed by professional pilot employment. It defines both the curriculum and the time frames with a definite outcome for successful students. There is no wasted time, but at the same time is personalized. We emphasize pilot in command training because larger flight schools neglect this important skill requirement for pilots entering the aviation profession. The second major factor in this program is employment. While other schools may mention an interview for a fee, we actually do employ our graduates and pay them very well. The employment phase is critical to success in aviation and we provide that first start.
What is Important about new aircraft?
New aircraft, just like a new automobile means the latest in technology. It also means more reliability and scheduling. At most flight schools, the use of older aircraft means more mechanical delays and not having the use of the best available in training. Even some newer aircraft are actually old aircraft with new paint and interiors. The Diamond is one of the few truly new designs to emerge in aviation. These aircraft meet more stringent design and safety standards compared to the other types most commonly used in general aviation. |
Other larger flight schools offer fast paced training. Is Falcon Aviation Academy able to train as fast?
The answer is both yes and no. Unlike some of the popular national flight schools, we are FAA approved. This places higher standards on both the quality of training we provide and the success of our graduates. Therefore we can not cut corners. We must provide a structured training program complete with class room ground training. If you look at our programs you will find that we do offer very fast programs for the full time student while meeting or exceeding our curriculum requirements. However, we may not be a fast as some of the others who do not need to meet the same standards.
If I train at another flight school, can I eventually work for Falcon Aviation Academy?
Generally we hire our own graduates. However, we do from time to time offer employment to applicants from the outside as needed. Because most large flight schools only train graduates to become airline first officers, the selection process is difficult. Only a small percentage of applicants actually meet the knowledge, skills and responsibility requirements we are seeking.
If I train at Falcon Aviation Academy do you provide living arrangements?
We will assist any customer in finding a suitable living arrangement depending on preference. The Peachtree City area is an upscale community offering a wide variety of living selections. It is also possible to live in the downtown Atlanta area for those who want either a metropolitan life style and/or the ability to attend our Peachtree-Dekalb location.
What do I need to know about flight training?
Flight training is not a commodity. It is an academic and skills based endeavor. The foundation you build is critical to long, safe and fun career. It is this foundation that begins with the selection of a professional training company. While you may receive training from a qualified Flight instructor individual working on his or her own, it is usually difficult for these individuals to remain current and up to date with the latest in teaching and FAA requirements.
What kind of future opportunities are possible?
The highest quality of any pilot is in working with others. This attribute can not be paid for. Employers seek individuals who will work hard, work with a team of people and strive to meet the company objectives. It is therefore the work experience an applicant brings to the new employer, not the $100,000 training program that makes the applicant desirable.

How much will it cost to become employable?

In general you should plan on around 50k for your training.
This will get you into paid commercial flying. You should not have to spend any more on tuition costs. There are other costs which you should include in your loan program. Those include books and materials, living expenses and meals.

Despite what the media may portray, aviation is booming with growth and there are plenty of oppurtunities for employment, and advancement in all sectors of the air transportation industry. Is the airline industry in recovery?
Yes, the airline industry is going through a restructuring and is learning to adapt to the changes in which people travel and purchase transportation services. While many of the original airlines may disappear, there are and will be new, more innovative companies to replace the older companies. Some of the older companies are using innovative approaches such as operating subsidiaries with fuel efficient regional jets to provide cost effective, yet profitable service to selected city pairs. Along with the airline sector of transportation, there are other segments of aviation growing also, such as the business aircraft fractional carriers, charter companies and the soon to make an entry, very light jets. All of these operators mean more jobs for professional pilots.
Are guaranteed Interviews that some flight schools offer a good way to go?
Be careful here. You should never have to pay extra just to get an interview. This is a tactic used by some flight schools. You never need a flight school to get an interview. You need to be qualified and competent to get an interview. Honest hard work and good training are the necessary prerequisites for any interview. Falcon Aviation Academy does have connections with ASA (Atlantic Southeast Airlines) however this is purely a benefit of completing our courses and becoming employed as a flight instructor with us. Be sure to understand this this "connection" is in no way built into the pricing of your training program. If you wish, we would recommed talking to current students and graduates. They will testify to the training they received and will be able to give you the best advice.
If I enroll in the Airline Career Path, how long can I expect to work as a flight instructor before I am qualified to move into airline or corporate flying?

Some of the Nation Wide flight schools offer fast training. What is the difference
in your training?
It is simple. We are FAA approved. That means we have to meet a higher training standard. We concentrate heavily on ground academics as a large part of each program. |
Why are your costs for programs so much less than some of the bigger Florida and Arizona flight schools?
The reason is that they charge up to 40% more for their name. Our programs are some of the best in the nation, without all of the advertising hype. The important thing is to enter into commercial with loans you can afford to pay. With a debt load of $100,000 or more, you are in a poor situation to really enjoy your early years in aviation.

Why is Falcon Aviation Academy different from other flight schools?

There are hundreds of flight schools in the country. There are two categories of flight training providers; flight Academies and flight schools. Flight academies also have a large fleet of several different types of aircraft and usually have new aircraft. Most non approved flight schools usually have part time instructors and older aircraft.
What are some of my career planning considerations?
The first question is the type of professional aviation you are seeking.
The major areas are:
- Professional Airline Pilot
- Professional Corporate pilot
- Military Pilot
- Aviation Management
These are important decisions when beginning your career planning. The type of training and its focus depend on your goals. Also, in the planning process you have to consider your stage in life. Are you:
- A high school student
- A college student
- A career changer
Initially, each of the aviation career goals begins with the Private Pilot Certificate. This is the first pilot certification and is the basis of all other learning. The Private Pilot is your steepest learning curve since it requires you learn a great deal of material and gain the important skills to become a certified pilot. This is why it is important to have highly structured training from full time professionals at an FAA approved flight school such as ours.
If you plan to continue into professional pilot training, the next step is to choose a program which offers highly structured curriculum offering a complete package of courses to take you all the through the training necessary to begin employment as a commercial pilot. Our Professional Pilot in Command Program is unique in that it provides all of the courses and includes an employment phase in two sectors of commercial aviation; Flight Instructing and Charter Operations. With these skills and work experiences, you will become qualified to quickly move into the national airlines. |
What type of Medical qualifications is required?
After you enroll in our programs, we will provide you with a list of local FAA authorized aviation medical examiners. The physical is a basic medical exam to ensure that you are in good general health. For students who are at least 16 years old, we like to have the medical exam scheduled after the first few flight lessons.
Is Ground School Required?
Yes, ground training is a vital part of learning to fly. The academic training is a large component of aviation today. The FAA places a great deal of emphasis on knowledge. Our programs are highly dependant on solid skills in planning, decision making and judgment. Some flight schools conduct no ground training and rely on you to do self study. Self study is important, but the knowledge you gain from experienced instructors following an approved syllabus will safe you money in the long run.
