2008 FAR/AIM UPDATE

If you have already purchased the 2008 FAR/AIM publications, you will notice that it states currency through Aug. 20th, 2007. To be aware of all the changes that have been made, ASA has released an update to keep you imformed of the changes. You can download this information below as a .pdf file direct from ASA. This will include updates to both the FAR 2008 as well as the FAR/FC 2008.

| President Signed Age 65 into Law |

Effective 12/13/07, commercial pilots may now continue to fly under Part 121 regulations until they reach the age of 65.
President Bush signed this into law and is governed by a set of requirements or restrictions. In Summary a pilot over 65:
- Int'l Ops must be paired with pilot under Age 60
- Medical Standards unchanged
- Training Program adjustments are required to ensure adequate skill and judement characteristics
- Line check every 6 month
- If SIC, a sim eval. will substitute for a regular line check
