MARIETTA CONF. CENTER & RESORT

Like it or not, federal aviation regulations are a fact of life. That's why you shouldn't miss ASF's newest live seminar. Get answers to commonly asked regulatory questions and insights on the real-world intersection of rules, common sense, and safety.

You'll learn ways to stay up-to-date on regulatory changes, some important rules that don't show up in your FAR/AIM, and simple methods for reading-and understanding-complex regulations.

A special feature of the seminar is a Q&A session with an AOPA Legal Services Plan attorney, so be sure to bring your aviation-related legal questions!

Airshow @ Falcon Field

As many of you are aware, the Great Georgia Airshow will be held at Falcon Field the weekend of October 12th - 14th.  We wanted to give you as much information as we can to help make this weekend run smoothly for all students, instructors, and staff.

Aircraft Repositions
Beginning on Wednesday, October 10th, many of the DA-20's will be repositioned to both Newnan (KFFC) and Griffin (6A2) Airports so that we are able to give up our ramp space to allow airshow officials to set-up the necessary staging and other tents.  Limited flight activity will be allowed but all international flight tranining will be suspended during this period.  The available aircraft will be first come first serve and must be scheduled via the online system as you normally would.  The aircraft that are to be repositioned will be blocked off as Maintenance during this period.
Can I still fly?

Yes, dual flights can be conducted out of both Griffin (6A2) and Newnan (KCCO) during this time period however you must coordinate this effort with your instructor prior to calling the Peachtree City office for aircraft availabliliy.

Once you and your instructor have agreed to fly, the aircraft must be manually reserved via the Peachtree City Office (not the online schedule).  Please contact Miranda or Spencer with these requests.

Watch out for TFR's!!

During the airshow as well as during the practice sessions, there will be a 5nm radius Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) established to protect the area around the airport.  There will be several high speed aircraft in the area as well as some aerobatic activity taking place.

Aircraft wishing to enter or transition the the area must contact the temporary control tower prior to entering the area.  It is recommended that a flight plan be filed with ATC and you read all applicable NOTAMS.  For additional information, please contact the Peachtree City Airport FBO at 770-487-2225.

NACO Charting Notice

Effective October 25th, the Federal Aviation Administration will reconfigure all the IFR Low Altitude Charts for the conterninous U.S.  There will be an increase in the number of charts (up from 28 to 36) which will result in a larger scale to allow for additional RNAV routing that is currently being implemented.

How does this affect Falcon Aviation Students?

The current Atlanta Chart (L-19/20), will now cover the same similar areas however you may need to purchase an additional chart to cover some areas (i.e. Savannah is now a part of L-24).

For more information on the old charts vs. the new chart format, you may download and view the NACO documentation below.

Falcon Aviation Pilot Supplies

The Falcon Aviation Pilot Supply in Peachtree City, as always, will stock all the relevant charts for the southeast areas of the U.S.  Once they become available, you can purchse them for the same standard price.

New Satelite Base Opening!!

After a long anticipated wait, the Newnan base is set to open for operations beginning on October 15th, 2007.  There will be a few aircraft based there and many plans in the works for additional office and hanger space in the future.  More details will be made available as the become available.
