Plans have been finalized to complete the Newnan Facility Construction only 7 months after initial ground breaking which is scheduled for December 2008. Computer Assisted Testing Service (CATS), has updated several policies regarding, re-tests, and the tests that are offered. In addition, the prices will increase on January 1, 2009. For more information, read our 11-17-08 newsletter.

Contruction to relocate the Localizer Antenna for the completion of the ILS installation is scheduled to be completed between the hours of 2200-0600 each night until further notice. It is expected that this construction will be completed by December in which a final flight check will be conducted for approval of this new system. Please check your local NOTAMS for current information on this closure.

The new LaGrange location is now a Cessna Flight Center and is slated to offer a variety of Cessna aircraft to meet the demands of a global market of students. In addition to being a Authorized Diamond Services Center for all maintenance services and product sales, Falcon Aviation has now completed the process of becoming a Diamond Flight Center which allows us to perfrom factory authorized training on all aircraft.

A Cessna 172SP has been added to the Falcon Fleet and will be available in Peachtree City (KFFC) through mid-October for checkouts and orientation flights. The rates will be the same as our Diamond DA-40 Glass rates and will offer the latest technology from Garmin with the integrated auto-pilot.

The Falcon Student Corner has been updated. New features include a section with commonly used Forms and Documents, and an interactive Risk Assessment Tool.

Both sections in addition to the Falcon ProBook require a username and a password. To find this information, you must first log-in the MyFBO scheduling system and look under the Message Center.

A new rule has been released that extends the terms of first- and third-class medical certificates. The rule took effect July 24, 2008.

The purpose of the new ruling is to improve the efficiency of the medical certification program and process. It will also advance the services provided to medical certificate applicants.

Third-class medical certificates for pilots under the age of 40 were previously required to be renewed every 36 months. Those pilots now have 60 months, or five years, to review their certificates.

First-class medical certificates previously lasted six months. Under the new rule, they now have to be renewed every 12 months.

There is no change in the terms for medical certificates for pilots over the age of 40.

MyFBO scheduling software is Returning to Falcon Aviation
After several months with the new scheduling software, it has become apparent that MyFBO best fits the Falcon Aviation operation. Effective July 30-31, the switch will be made to begin using MyFBO for all scheduling and maintenance tracking. Falcon Aviation will also be able to benefit from the curriculum tracking software that is incorporated with MyFBO and plan to have FAA approval for electronic records. We have already conducted several successful courses to introduce the Regional Jet to future airline candidates. This course provides an explanation of aircraft systems, profiles, FMS, aerodynamics, and performance in relation to flying a Regional Jet.
